With a specific interest in the spectator’s physical and psychological interaction with ‘the screen’ I explore the ways in which media screens are capable of generating both oppressive viewing conditions, which demarcate the viewer’s interaction with the work, and liberating viewing conditions, in which the viewer is offered a degree of control over their visual/physical experience. Through provoking a conscious ‘awareness’ in the viewer the central aim of my practice is to lead us to question how our perceptions influence us on a wider phenomenological level.
