Documentary Photographic Artist
Currently my practice focuses on the documentary photograph’s relationship and role within cultural representation. Whilst studying theories, which question the photograph’s complex relationship with truth and reality, I consider the responsibility of the photographer and the photograph’s ability to communicate within today’s sea of visual consumption. I situate my analysis in an exploration of the personal within the political through collaboration and research with my subjects. Simultaneously I attempt to re-represent issues which I see as being misrepresented in the public arena.
