I am currently a Student at The Slade School of Fine Art Studying my first year in BA(Hons)Fine Art.
My interest in Art as a general matter, originated through my experiences and memories of my grandparents home and life in Cyprus. My grand parents were involved in creating various textile processes such as weaving,patch working, creating natural wool and knitting. One of their innovative approach was re-using unwanted pieces of fabric by gathering geometric pieces together in order to produce large scale patchwork hangings. The patchwork hangings was collaborated in order to re-construct the interior of their house.
After both of my grandparents passing away my memories and experiences of my grandparents was the only element I could hold on to a develop further.
Throughout my practice I reflect onto my grandparents so within myself they are always there.
