Carla Garnet is an independent curator, art consultant, art appraiser, and writer actively supporting Canadian contemporary art, culture and artists through a variety of initiatives examining the politics of aesthetics. Garnet is currently working as a guest curator at Gallery Stratford, while developing, "Suzy Lake Political Poetics", a touring exhibition of the artist's photo-based work with Dr. Matthew Brower at the University of Toronto Art Centre and creating an exhibition of new spectral works under the rubric, Streaming Alterity, with Pamela Edmonds, curator at the Art Gallery of Peterborough. Both of these projects are slated to open in 2011. Garnet remains on the Gallery TPW Professional Resource Committee and she has served on the Board of Directors of Gallery TPW and C Magazine.
