Carne Griffiths graduated from the Kent Institute of Art and Design in 1995 with a First Class Hons Degree in Illustration. He returned as fellow of the college along with colleague and friend, artist Dan Baldwin, and they shared a studio for a year. Carne moved to Leytonstone in 1996 and began a career with Hand & Lock, producing embroidery designs for an impressive list of clients including: HRH Queen Elizabeth, HM the King of Tonga, HM the Sultan of Oman, Keith Flint of the Prodigy, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Chanel, Lesage Paris, Alfred Dunhill, Ralph Lauren. He has also created gold wire designs for films, including: ‘The Last King of Scotland’, ‘Valkyrie’, ‘Sherlock Homes’ and the musical, 'Wicked'.
