My paintings do refer to the visual world but I am aiming to explore these visual references through abstraction. Colour is a major factor in my work and I am very involved in its dynamics, its qualities and emotional charge.
Paint is applied in various ways, the fluidity and the life of the medium is inherent yet controlled.
I work in oil on canvas and acrylic on paper often employing stencilling and layering the paint.
