Delfina Foundation
Profile/CV
The Delfina Foundation facilitates artistic exchanges and dialogue between the UK and the Middle East & North Africa via a programme of artistic residencies and related public events. Our public programme (including talks & exhibitions) provides platforms for artists to explore common areas of practice, showcase their work and look at the link between the arts and civic society.
Renowned art patron Delfina Entrecanales established the foundation as the successor to Delfina Studios Trust. Over its 20-year existence, Delfina Studios became Britain’s largest artist residency space and earned an unprecedented reputation in the arts world. As a charitable and non-political organisation, The Delfina Foundation aims to develop the next generation of international artists.
The Delfina Foundation envisions a global family of creative people, living as citizens, working as artists, and acting as cultural ambassadors for their communities promoting cultural exchange, debate and collaboration as a way to combat intolerance, isolation and conflict across the world.
Founded in 2007, we develop innovative models of cross-cultural dialogue via an inter-related programme of artistic residencies and public events, from talks to exhibitions. We support artists, curators and writers in expanding their practice via professional development. We provide platforms for public engagement that investigates the role of art in society.
The Delfina Foundation is an independent, non-political arts organisation with charitable status. It is not a grant-making foundation.
