My practice is driven by spiritual principles and a belief in a power greater than myself. Living my life by spiritual principles has helped me to tap into an inner resource And gain a profound alteration in the way I react to life. Painting is a way of connecting with this inner resource, it reveals an expression of the beauty which is inside every human being And essential to our existence. The philosopher Roger Scruton states "Our need for beauty is not something that we could lack and still be fulfilled as people". My intention is to create beautiful works of art which stir the emotions of the viewer. I share the opinion of Formalist writer Clive Bell When he writes "Lines and colours combined in a particular way, Certain forms and relations of forms, stir our aesthetic emotions".
