I am a mathematician and painter born in 1979 in Istanbul, Turkey. I am a bachelor of science in mathematics graduate from Istanbul University.
I like to refer to my work as 'geometric abstract paintings' in the sense that has calligraphic rules of symmetry and balance, and geometric compositions reflect the philosophy and rhythms of calligraphy. The black lines and white space on the paper (or canvas) create a sense of beauty. I use the 'Golden Ratio' in the geometric relationships and proportions of my works because of its visual aesthetics.
I am influenced by the Traditional Turkish and Chinese Calligraphy.
