Gareth Phillips

After gaining a BA Hons in Documentary Photography at University of Wales Newport, Gareth began freelancing and working on editorial commissions for clients such as The Sunday Times Magazine, The Guardian, Wall Street Journal and Newsweek. His work has been internationally recognized in exhibitions and award, most notably the Ian Parry Award 2007, Welsh Livery Society Award for Photographic Excellence 2007 and the Magenta Photography Awards 2008. He was accepted to attend the Eddie Adams photojournalism Workshop in New York, and his work has been exhibited at the Getty Gallery - London, M&C Saatchi - London, 25CPWGallery - New York, and Newport Art Museum – Wales. His work is also part of the British Council's 'Open Cities' commission that is exhibiting in Shanghai, Madrid, Bilbao, Sofia, Vienna, Gdansk, Belfast, Dublin.
He is a member of the photographic collective MJR, that is based out of New York, and his work titled 'Existence' is due to be featured at the Fotografia Festival in Rome in September 2010.
