By presenting the incidental or mundane I aim to engage the viewer; allowing them to recognise aspects of their own experience, exploring the relationships between seemingly banal memories, their significance and shared experiences. I want to avoid and delete from the work any sentimentality or atmosphere and this is achieved by presented work out of context and in an intentionally minimal language, forcing a contradictory juxtaposition of personal imagery expressed through impersonal forms of communication.
