Julian Claxton studied at Manchester University, Central School of Art, London and UWE Bristol. He lives and works in Bristol and has been a Spike Island studio holder since 2006. His work investigates systems of validation and belief.
Recent group exhibitions include Oriel Davies Open at Newtown (2012), Case Open, part of Ways of Looking at the Bradford Festival of Photography (2011) and webcasts and broadcasts from Homeland, Sheffield University and Concrete Radio, London (2010). He is now working towards a solo show at Motorcade/FlasParade in Bristol in November. His work has been covered in the Fortean Times. He was a founder director of Plan 9, Bristol.
