Karen Loader

Aiming for a poetic rather than a narrative vision of the world, Karen's abstract paintings explore ideas around the philosophy of perception and how we negotiate the world around us. Her geometric constructions take inspiration from the compositional elements in the frescoes of Piero della Francesca as well as from the urban sprawl & architecture of London.  Colour is a key component in creating the character or mood of the work whilst formal shapes and repetition are used to generate rhythm and a sense of continuous motion.  Her work presents a spatial dynamic that engages the viewer in a physical as well as a psychological way.
