I am a painter and jewellery maker. My art is interconnected by colour and texture.
I trained in Printed Textiles and Fashion at Loughborough College of Art and Design and worked as a freelance designer for the British, Italian and American market. Subsequently I taught fine art textiles and photography. It is interesting to note how many artists/ jewellery makers etc, trained initially as textile designers. It is clearly a good path to tread.
This year I have a Christmas exhibition at The Fountain Gallery where I am delighted to be exhibiting once again with my sister in law, Joyce Newman, a wonderful painter from Edinburgh. Please get in touch if you would like to attend the private view which is on the first day of the exhibition, Friday December 18th from 17.00 o'clock onwards.
My work is cheerful and narrative in essence. Travels to Rajasthan and Italy are the influence in my most recent paintings.
