Mark Harvey is a photographer renowned for his stunning equine and animal studies. Carefully crafted lighting and a sharp eye for composition, Mark produces images of exceptional quality, beauty and drama. Having endless amounts of patience and working in a calm, yet purposeful manner, he is able to get the best from every subject he works with.
Growing up in rural Leicestershire is where this passion for studying animals began. His use of pencil for observing and recording fur and feather was the starting point in training his eye. Photography grew in importance as a creative method and having completing a degree in ecology Mark was set on photography as his chosen path.
Primarily a self-taught photographer his training was completed at Central St Martins, London. Since then he has been profiled by National Geographic for his equine work, featured in numerous publications globally and worked with some of the most prestigious riders in the equestrian world. He was recently commissioned by HSBC, working with both Mary King and William Fox-Pitt.
When Mark is not photographing horses he can be found by a lake or river fly fishing or training Purdey, his working Labrador. He lives in Cambridge, England and undertakes commissions world wide.
