Nubian Nights Out began in December 2014 by a collection of young, progressive, London-based Black women multi-disciplined within the creative industries including, photography, fashion, music and film. Nubian Nights Out was initially created to connect with and have constructive conversations with other like-minded people within the African/Caribbean diaspora in the UK interested in learning more about Black History and identity. To date, there are 570 members signed up to the international networking site Meetup.com where regular events are organised.
Given this group’s strong passion for the Arts, it is not surprising that it serves as the chosen medium to aid in bringing about togetherness among people of African descent within the UK. Nubian Nights Out aims to create and produce their own innovative visual content, primarily through photography and film. Thus, creating platforms to channel this content through their own events and exhibitions.
