Paco Montañés is an 35 years old Spanish painter, living in Anadalucía. He was trained in Granada, Cordoba and Osaka, Japan.
In his work he is concentrated on painting portraits. Also you can find a wide range of pieces inspired by the outstanding masterpieces of the great ancient cultures and the old masters like Michelangelo, van Dyck, Dürer, Bernini or Riemenschneider amongst others. Therefore Montañés has worked in many different places in Europe, the USA and most parts of Asia.
Its technique persists on the Japanese "single stroke of the brush". That means to work quick and highly concentrated to get into a flow, instead of endless correcting or retouching the work. For his portraits in oil Velázquez is his fountain of greatly apprenticeship and inspiration.
