I am interested in ideas of globalisation, a process by which the people of the world are united into a single society and function together, and we as individuals play some small part in a wider sexual and religious, economic and technological, socio-cultural and political narrative, the unwitting germs of a much larger global disease.
It also interests me the idea of a 'new age of consciousness' about free thinking and not accepting or conforming to society and its conditions. My recent paintings are born out of the space between such poles.
Richard has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally and his recent shows include a number of curatorial collaborations with other artists, writers and curators.
