Artistic training and principles:
I have carved with Abbas Hashemi at Wysing Arts in Cambridgeshire and, over a period of eight years, studied under Boutros Romhein in Carrara, Italy, where I currently carry out professional work.
I work in a mainly abstract modernist idiom and have a particular interest in twentieth century British abstract art as established by figures like Ben Nicholson, Peter Lanyon and Barbara Hepworth at St Ives as well as a range of other early twentieth century modernists such as Graham Sutherland, Eric Ravilious, Henry Moore and the Bloomsbury group. My current interests include Modernism as a movement and the place of abstract art within that context.
Gallery representation and exhibitions:
Currently represented at the Broomhill Art Gallery and Sculpture Gardens, Barnstaple, Devon, and the Penwith Gallery, St Ives, Cornwall.
