Performance Artist and Dramaturg
My practice is based on an investigation into the kinaesthetic experience of performance.
I studied dramaturgy at The Central School of Speech and Drama, on the MA in Advanced Theatre Practice, specialising in devised theatre among a variety of disciplines. Since graduating in June 2009, I have continued to work in a collaborative way and have produced work for Shunt, Battersea Arts Centre, Little Angel Theatre, The International Puppetry Festival, Edinburgh Festival, HATCH Festival, 3K Cabaret, Secret Garden Party and Wilderness Festivals, among others. I am also a trained aerialist with Aircraft circus, which has helped to expand my knowledge of different forms of movement in performance.
My enquiry into the kinaesthetic experience of theatre looks at ways of creating a heightened sense of audience engagement. This is crucial to all my performance work, which involves fusions of puppetry, physical theatre, interactive installations and aerialism.
