Serge Hamad is a Franco-Algerian self taught visual artist born 1961 in Algiers & based in NY since 2001.
The artists started photography at a very young age. In the mid-eighties he used motion film & video as an additional media to cover war-zones and inform about sociopolitical situations like in Iraq, Balkan, Iran…. His work was broadcasted in most of the major European TV channels.
In 2010 Serge Hamad dedicated his time mainly to photography. Since then, his work was exhibited at the SOMArts Gallery in San Francisco, the Seyhoun Gallery, and other venues like Artspace.com… His donated art via the renowned artist “Shirin Neshat” was also auctioned at Christie’s London to endorse women's rights.
"I feel that an artwork is successful when once injected into the communication channels it manages to awake a dialog," the artist says.
