Graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee.

My practice has evolved from an interest in both organic and man-made material, textures, structures and surfaces. Experimentation with materials – such as latex, resin, fabric, yarn, threads and other collected objects - has informed my work and played a pivotal role in my development process. Intrigued by what we understand as real nature and the relationship between the synthetic and natural aspects of the environment, I am concerned by our human modification and mutilation of the natural world. I aim not to recreate nature in my work but show a sense of organic tactility and pattern, creating works which, although seemingly natural in origin, have other more regimented and artificial associations. Also considering the relationship between indoor and outdoor domestic spaces, my work uses elements of design and craft as I attempt to bring a kind of synthetic nature into a gallery space.
