Tom hackett is a sculptor based in the UK who makes installations in the gallery and wider public locale. He works across a range of media and process, typically using multiple elements, which range from cast readymades to self originated forms which he then translates into different materials. His combination of particular materials in reaction to specific sets of creative concerns aims to shift the familiar from it place of usual reception into different frames of viewer reference.As an artist he chooses to work with the everyday and the common place experience to unearth many of the complexities that surround us. Most recently he has been exploring issues of the decorative and the naff.
