Tracy came to glass seven years ago, studying for her HNC and HND at Richmond Adult Community College. She recently completed her MA, graduating with distinction in Contemporary Crafts - Glass from UCA Farnham where she is currently an artist in residence.
In 2008 she was awarded 'Best in Show' at the British Glass Biennale. In 2009 her work was selected from her final show 'MAde' for the MAsters section of the Axis artists' website.
Tracy draws her inspiration from images of cells taken using a scanning electron microscope. The fragile beauty seen in these images is often far more beautiful than an image of the complete form. It is this aesthetic she aims to create in her work, exploiting the inherent qualities glass possesses, its strength, fragility, sensuality and allure - drawing the viewer in to investigate further.
