Affordable Art Fair London Returns In Two Locations This Autumn

The Affordable brand returns to both North and South London with two major fairs this Autumn. Their signature Art Fairs at Battersea and Hampstead  Battersea Park: 25-28 October 2012 Hampstead Heath: 1-4 November 2012 are legendary for offering quality contemporary art by UK and international artists, sporting affordable price tags. Art enthusiasts shopping on a more modest budget at the Battersea Park fair will find a new focus on art under £500. Artwork priced under £500 will be made easy to spot and there will be specially crafted ‘Really, Really Affordable Art’ tours, helping visitors unearth an affordable gem. ‘Silverback Gorilla’, Stoneware ceramic, 28x39cm by Nicola Theakston, Edition of 24, £590 at Lena Boyle The Duke of Kent is set to open the Battersea Fair alongside Affordable Art Fair founder, Will Ramsay.

One week later, the Affordable Art Fair will return to Hampstead Heath for the second year running. Celebrity impressionist and comedian, Jon Culshaw, will open the fair this year and over 18,000 visitors are expected to flock to the Heath in search of paintings, photography and sculptures priced between £40 - £4,000. At both fairs, established artists such as Damien Hirst, Mark Quinn and Stanley Donwood will be showcasing their work alongside BP Portrait Award shortlisted artists including James Stewart and Nathan Ford. Galleries including Degreeart and My Life in Art will present fresh emerging talent while visitors to the Battersea fair will be able to browse the latest work from art colleges at the Recent Graduates Exhibition.

Workshops are high on the agenda with print making to sculpture and painting to collage on offer to those ready to get their hands dirty. The Education Programme returns to the Affordable Art Fair with an array of artist-led workshops, talks and Kid’s Activity Packs designed to let the little ones unleash their artistic flair. Since it was launched in 1999, the Affordable Art Fair has welcomed over 1 million visitors worldwide and has seen £155m of art sold by exhibiting galleries. A global success story, 17 fairs are now held in 14 cities across 4 continents.

Tickets are on sale now for the Affordable Art Fair which returns to two London locations in the next month. Battersea Park will play host to the first event, in late October, whilst the second fair takes place on Hampstead Heath in early November.
