Paul Warhola, the elder brother of the Pop artist Andy Warhol died last week in Aspinwall, a small town outside of Pittsburgh Pa, age 91. A World War II Navy Veteran Warhola was the son of Carpatho-Rusyn born immigrants. He owned a successful scrap metal businesses but later in life was noted for his abstract paintings created using chicken feet. His lifelong love of art was shared by his brothers Andy and John Warhola, who died, age 85, on Christmas Eve, in Pittsburgh, from pneumonia in 2010.

John Warhola, was one of the three founding members of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and guardian of his legacy. He was a driving force and spearheaded the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh an archive that holds many of Warhol’s work along with original studio contents and letters. Donald Warhola said his dad preferred to focus on the museums and his three children. Paul became an artist, upon retirement with public exhibitions and widespread interest. The funeral will take place tomorrow.

Warhola is survived by his wife of 71 years, Anne and their seven children. Andy Warhol died in 1987 from a routine Gall Bladder operation stemming from complications from being shot and wounded at the height of his career.
