Art Basel Miami Week Main and Satellite Events Guide 2013
Next week Miami plays host to Art Basel – This once a year excessive art overdose comes complete with palm trees and caters to the serious and not so serious minded. Art Basel Miami week is a magnet for the international cultural core who annually descend on this vibrant Art Deco resort, to pay homage to the Gods of visual art. This is the definitive end of year barometer, which determines the state of the current art market. Like Art Basel (Switzerland) and Frieze, these events are primarily glorified art trade shows. Lets not lose sight of their real purpose. The galleries involved are there to sell and this is a one stop destination to look admire and buy art. On the bright side, as well as the endless parties, satellite fairs, exhibitions and solo shows, there is actually a huge amount of quality content to wash down with your Ruinart.
