The American artist Tony Oursler has directed the video for David Bowie's new single 'where are we now?'  The video, set in an artist's studio is instantly recognisable as Oursler's visual style. Bowie's face appears projected onto a doll's head, while the second figure, a silent woman gazes on. The song is slow and melodic, on the Anthony Newley spectrum of Bowie's music. This is back to form for this seminal recording artist. The video uses text and shows Bowie, the former publisher of Modern Painters, as a gracefully ageing senior. The song was produced by long term collaborator Tony Visconti, 'Where Are We Now?' was written by David Bowie, and recorded in New York.

Tony Oursler was born in new york in 1957. He completed a BA in fine arts at the California Institute for the Arts, Valencia, California in 1979.
