Brazilian artist Eduardo Coimbra Exhibits Clouds installation In Moscow
Eduardo Coimbra opened his installation "Cloud" at the Kuznetsk bridge, one of the busiest in the Russian capital, Moscow. The work, which was shown in São Paulo (2012) and in Rio de Janeiro (2008), has five huge boxes of light which contains images of clouds. The facility, which part of the project LEXUS - Hybrid Art, moves the urban landscape and invites pedestrians and reinterpret the sky.
Eduardo Coimbra began his career in the early 1990s, with works in which familiar objects were reimagined through the use of small motors, lights and electrical mechanisms. Over the years, the focus of the artist's action has shifted gradually to large-scale works, culminating in the achievement of important public facilities. In addition to these commissions, it should be noted that even a more intimate production, such as the large number of models made from 1999 or photographs / collages that appear floating islands in the sky, a scenario almost dreamlike (Asteroids series), suggest interest in the grandeur and the real dialogue with the human presence.
