This is a sponsored post -  Whether it be on your own back door step or thousands of miles away in a third world country, a crisis can happen anywhere. The British Red Cross is known for helping people abroad, but did you know that the British Red Cross helps more than a million people in the UK every year? The British Red Cross is there to provide practical help in emergencies, short-term care, in the home, and are on the spot, teaching life-saving first aid skills to thousands each year.

The British Red Cross has launched a compelling nationwide campaign to raise awareness of this commitment. It highlights the support it offers throughout the UK. The British Red Cross is a volunteer-led humanitarian organisation that helps people in crisis, no matter who or where they are, enabling vulnerable people at home and overseas to prepare and respond to emergencies in their own communities.

The stark reality of this video should hit home hard to many people unaware that the British Red Cross is a charity which is capable of helping out at home as well as in war torn countries abroad.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement started in 1963, after Swiss businessman Henry Dunant proposed the creation of national relief societies consisting of volunteers to provide help to those suffering in times of war.
