Getting my act together for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2013

Bookmark and Share

About January 2013 I began thinking about what pictures I was going to submit for this year's Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London, UK. As a photographer I looked through my work over the past 2 years - mainly street photography and landscapes - and decided to use some pictures I had taken in the vicintiy of London's Waterloo station. But I wanted to go a little further and experiment with the fascinating cross-over point that exists between art and photography so I began to 'play' with the three images I had selected - please see attached original shots I had taken and would serve as the basis for my artisitic submission to this prestigious art event held annually in London every year without a break since 1769. This year will be the 245th staging of this exciting event.

Fyi, I have exhibited at the Royal Academy twice previously - at the Summer Exhibtions in 2010 and 2011 - please see:

In my next blog, I'll go into some more detail about the final two works I created for this year's Summer Exhibition and which were submitted recently - entitled, 'Primesight' and 'Past Present'.
