ICA London Sets Up Shop At Glastonbury and Latitude Festivals

The ICA London have announced that they will be present at the Latitude and Glastonbury festivals this year. The ICA in association with Bowiefest are taking a specially curated programme to Latitude on 18 July. With a programme of talks, film and performance, Bowiefest at Latitude will be a celebration of David Bowie in 1973, one of the most artistically important years in his career. Bowie released the seminal album Aladdin Sane, toured extensively with the Spiders from Mars, and recorded Pin Ups, an album of 60s covers. Visit the Latitude website for information about tickets and the full festival lineup.

Following the success of Icy Gays held here in February, the ICA in association with Vogue Fabrics will be taking the show to this year’s Glastonbury festival, with a special installation of live music, DJs and intimate performance. If you were lucky enough to get a ticket for Glastonbury 2013, look out for more information coming soon on this collaboration.

Taking over the ICA on the Easter Bank Holiday weekend was Smithsfest, the latest part of a programme of festivals held at the ICA exploring the work of influential musical artists. As well as talks, films and performance, attendees were invited to get a quiff at the onsite barbers and have their photo taken in front of the famous Salford Lads Club – take a look at a photo gallery from the weekend.

Following on from Bowiefest and Princefest held last year, the next event in the series isMickRonsonfest on 27 April 2013. Tickets are selling fast for this unique day of events exploring the career of the iconic guitarist and producer, who collaborated with artists such as David Bowie, Bob Dylan and Lou Reed.
