Today is Remembrance Sunday and the Imperial War Museum in London is offering free admission to the museum for all and hope that people will take the opportunity to visit it as the museum remembers members of the Armed Forces who gave their lives in active service. At 11am, a two-minute silence will was observed across the museum, starting and finishing with a museum-wide whistle blast.

At 12.30pm, they will be holding a traditional service of Remembrance in the Conservation Hall in AirSpace, with standard bearers from the Royal British Legion, Airborne Forces and local ATC cadets. IWM Duxford’s partner organisations will lay wreaths in honour of the fallen.

The museum will be giving families the opportunity to learn about remembrance together with hands-on activities throughout the museum.  Visitors can make poppies and either wear them with pride or attach them to large pictorial friezes. You can also add your own personal messages of remembrance and attach them to various friezes.

There will also be the opportunity to meet veterans and chat to them about their wartime experiences. Other exhibitions and evens are listed below.

There is also a fantastic exhibition of Modern British art by 20th century masters on the top floor of the museum.
