The iconic uber muse Kate Moss is the subject of a solo sale at Christie’s auction house in London. Curated by collector Gert Elfering, works ranging from sculpture to photography will celebrate Ms Moss as a global trendsetter of style and art.
The sale is made up mostly of her photographic images, in a variety of sizes and shapes. Artists include 60s ‘Pop Art’ legend Allen Jones’ 2013 Barbarellaesque work, depicting Kate in bronze glitter. It is expected to fetch between £20,000 and £30,000. An important collage by Beatles Sgt. Pepper cover designer Sir Peter Blake is also on offer. A tapestry by photo realist, Chuck Close, and a sculpture of Kate Moss as an angel in 18ct gold also features in the sale. Other artists include Annie Liebovitz, Sam Taylor-Johnson, Mary McCartney, Craig McDean, Irving Penn, Juergen Teller, and Mario Testino.
