Mother House Female Artist Collective Announces Open Day Programme
The Mother house is a supportive community of over 35 female artists has organically grown experimenting a collective childcare model, which enabled women to feed both their practice as artists and as mothers. Observing the importance of mother's practice impact on private lives and within society, the Mother House residency started on the 5th of September 2016 at the IKLECTIK Art Lab in London. Space provided the artists with the freedom of working independently or alongside their children and it will also give them the opportunity to work in collaboration with other artists and create a supportive and inspiring network.
This short term project has demonstrated how a dedicated space provides crucial support for mother artists’ professional development. " We need a Mother House everywhere around the country. This time at the Mother House changed my life"
I looked at my studio journal today after three years, I would have never done it at home. Having a dedicated space made me feel evaluated." Everybody, all ages, gender, professionals are welcome to join us!
