Testing Ground: Exhibition by MFA Curating Students (29 January–22 February) Continuing into its seventh year, this annual programme explores differing positions in art and education and is centred on an exhibition curated by students of MFA Curating programmes from London Metropolitan University and Goldsmiths College. Produced collaboratively over a period of three months, the exhibition is drawn from the Zabludowicz Collection, alongside existing work and new commissions from artists proposed by the emerging curators. Testing Ground for art and education 28 January–5 April 2015

For the first time, Testing Ground will include an exhibition produced in collaboration with an artist-run space. Founded in 2007 by artists Isaac Brest and Alex Perweiler as an online platform, The Still House Group is a multi-faceted collective for emerging artists and has established itself as an innovative and self-supporting artist-led organisation. Alongside a snap shot of the Group’s recent work its key members will produce new commissions for the exhibition.

Founded in 1994, the Zabludowicz Collection has rapidly grown to become one of the world’s leading private contemporary art collections. We celebrate 20 years of distinctive and pioneering activity with 20 Years of Collecting: Between Discovery and Invention. Presenting significant and rarely seen works from the Collection, the exhibition will reflect both on particular moments in recent art history and the development of the Zabludowicz Collection itself.

Continuing its commitment to commissioning, collecting and exhibiting artists at pivotal points in their careers, the Collection is proud to be working with Jon Rafman (b. 1981, Montreal, Canada) to produce his first major exhibition in the UK. Rafman makes environments, films, photographs and sculptures that examine the blurring of the real and virtual. Often constructing works which are composites of materials, including video footage, images, texts and quotes that he encounters in his extensive internet research, Rafman edits this material to create poetic new narratives while never concealing their source. Occasionally shocking and always engaging, his works force the viewer to enter into uncomfortable psychological realms.

Rafman will spend a number of months in the UK leading up to his exhibition working with the Collection and its curators to produce a major new film and installation, taking over the entire building at 176 Prince of Wales Road. Rafman will have a solo exhibition at the The Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, June–September 2015, and is nominated for the 2015 Pinchuk Future Generation Art Prize.
