Anna Kolod - Sub-Zero Lovers - Neonchocolate Gallery
Anna Kolod's sculptures, paintings and drawings are cocooning with erotic images, fantasies and obsessions, which grow out of their dual, Eros-Thanatos origin. Half-animal or half-god? A human being... the creator of the convulsive theater of Kolod's work is always in the middle of this process. The spasmatic dreamer is searching for other dimensions and a reference point outside of his own limited existence, where love and death are tied.
The meaning of this kind of eroticism represents not only the exploration between pleasure and suffering, but becomes the metaphor for sexual alienation and annihilation. Kolod's figures are making visible the liaison between nothingness and existence that is represented by the flesh.
