From the same team behind HowTheLightGetsIn comes Crunch 2010: the art and music festival at Hay.

This year, Crunch: the art festival at Hay will bring the same mix of thought-provoking art debates, incisive talks, infectiously danceable music and late-night parties, but with a twist. They’ll be taking the fun outdoors and introducing a whole catalogue of exciting new events in the globe field. For one magical weekend in November, an eclectic set of artists, philosophers, writers, film-makers and musicians will congregate in Hay.

Among a host of others, join human rights activist Bianca Jagger, White Cube’s Marc Quinn, best-selling author Sarah Thornton, Serpentine Director Julia Peyton-Jones, BBC Arts Editor Will Gompertz, Turner prize winning artist Martin Creed and ICA Director Ekow Eshun to debate the big question: what’s the point of art?

This year, the music line up is rumored to be bigger and better than ever. Confirmed already is folk-siren Laura Marling, band of the moment Man Like Me and fashion-icons The Broken Hearts among others.

Outside, Crunch 2010 will be welcoming The Tate’s Great British Art Debate Tent with a mix of solo talks, conversations, music, and entertainment. And for the first time ever, they’ll be showing, and selling, work by some of the UK’s leading artistic talent and galleries. All served up with winter-warming mulled cider, hog roasts and nightly displays of pyrotechnic wizardry.

Engaging, irreverent and challenging. Be part of Crunch 2010, Hay’s best kept secret. For more information, see www.artfestivalathay.org.
