The Foto8 Summer Show and Award 2009 - Host Gallery
ArtLyst recommends this exhibition taking place for or one month, The Summer Show provides London’s greatest spectacle of photography with over 100 images on display – an inspiring variety of framed and mounted images of all shapes and sizes, installed from floor to ceiling. From landscapes and portraiture to documentary, various genres of photography are represented in the exhibition. The final selection of photographs, chosen by Foto8 editors, will all be available for sale to the public.
The 2009 Summer Show saw an overwhelming response, with over 2300 images entered from 44 different countries, including Bangladesh, Iran, Mexico, Thailand and Turkey.
Once the show has been set up, a specifically-appointed team of judges will choose their favourite piece of work to be named “Best in Show” and awarded the prize of £1500. A second award, “The People’s Choice” will be decided from the votes cast by public visitors to the gallery during the show.Please see website for details on this exhibition.
