Three emerging artists express Sudan through art, music and film.
Chicago-based Suzanne Hilal is a Sudanese-British artist who creates linoleum prints inspired by Sudanese folktalkes.
London-based Amira Kheir is a Sudanese-Italian singer/songwriter creating a sound that is inspired bytraditional Sudanese singing and instrumentation, and blended with elements of Jazz, Soul, Ska, Bossa Nova, West African as well as Middle Eastern music. The result is a unique amalgamation of arrangements that give tasters of London’s increasingly multicultural music scene.
Sudanese film-maker Issraa Elkogali will be premiering in London her documentary on the hip hop scene in Sudan 'In search of hip hop'.
