Exhibition
Howard Hodgkin: As Time Goes By - Southampton City Art Gallery
Howard Hodgkin is one of the most important painters and printmakers working in Britain today.
The highlight of this show includes two new monumental works, exhibited in a public gallery for the first time. The pair, titled 'As Time Goes By', are Hodgkin's most ambitious and complex artworks to date.
Measuring over 20ft long each, these two new pictures are the biggest the artist has ever made. This exhibition is accompanied by two series of prints, 'Venetian Views' and 'Into the Woods', as well as documentary material showing how Hodgkin made these large-scale works.
The exhibition has been organised in collaboration with the Alan Cristea Gallery, London and is kindly sponsored by Hallett Independent.
