'Making Sense' is a multisensory exhibition by artists who have created interactive and tactile works.

Saranjit Birdi's installation 'Thisability' explores the senses of proprioception and kinesthetic sense, essential to physical movement. His video work ' Drawn and Quartered' features a still life of guitar drum and candlestick drawn with both elbows and feet.

'The only thing that separates ability, disability and super-ability is the ’wiring’, ‘sensors’, and joint mobility, not the act of concentration and sense of being... Maybe when we are totally preoccupied in drawing, the sensations of seeing and moving the pencil across paper and following an observed image, we all experience ‘Thisability’, a sense of ‘being’, no matter what our individual point of limitation.' Saranjit Birdi    March 2010

The installation also features drawings created by disability groups through Saranjit's workshops and encourages the public to participate in the sketchbooks availabble.
