Profiling Live Art and Interdisciplinary Practices
Thursday 13 May, 3.30-5pm

This is an opportunity for you to find out more about the Live Art Advisory Network (LAAN) who support Live Art, interdisciplinary practices and the making of new work. These organisations will be on-hand throughout the afternoon for you find out more about the ways they might be able to help you and your Live Art and performance-based practice.
If you are new to Live Art and performance, an emergent artist, or simply want to know more about what LAAN can offer you, there will be a wealth of free information on offer; contact with people who are part of LAAN; screenings of Live Art materials made by artists for artists, and an Unbound display - a bookstore selling Live Art books, dvds and limited editions.
Please feel free to drop by and say hello. No booking necessary.

Talking Shop
Thursday 13 May, 6-9pm

Led by LAAN, Talking Shop is a free event for recent graduates and early career artists (up to three years making work) working in the areas of Live Art and interdisciplinary performance practices offering advice, information, networking, and discussions.

There will be 15-minute long one-to-one advice sessions for artists who want to discuss their practice with an advisor, small group sessions looking at ways in which peer-to-peer models can help you maintain your practice, screenings of the Everything You Still Wanted to Know About Live Art But Were Afraid To Ask DVD, and an open discussion with all attendees. There will also be material to take away and opportunities to meet with other artists.

There is no need to book - just turn up at Matt Roberts Arts Project Space from 6pm.
We advise everyone to come prepared with a sense of what you want to talk about so you can get the most out of your session and check that your questions cannot be answered on our FAQ sheet:http://www.thisisliveart.co.uk/pdf_docs/FAQs_toptips_updatedMay09.pdf

This event is free. Places for one-to-one advisory sessions are limited.

One-to-one sessions, small group sessions and screenings from 6-8pm, open discussion from 8pm. There will also be opportunity to socialise afterwards in The Victory pub.
