The changing effect of nature on art and architecture is traced in this survey, which looks at land art, environmental activism and utopianism through the work of California-based architecture collective Ant Farm, artists Joseph Beuys, Hans Haacke, Robert Smithson and others. Simon Starling, Luke Fowler and Heather and Ivan Morison present contemporary perspectives.
