Further highlights include Emilio Vedova’s Per La Spagna (1962), one of the most resolved exemplars of the artist's celebrated Sotheby’s sale of 20th Century Italian Art promises to be one of the most exciting events on the auction calendar this October. Among the highlights of this year’s sale are Interno con frutta, a remarkable work from Giorgio De Chirico’s ‘Classical’ period, and a beautifully hand-painted bronze by Marino Marini, on his favourite theme of horse and rider.abstract paintings; Concetto Spaziale (1961) by Lucio Fontana
beautifully exhibits the artist’s painterly virtuosity which is the hallmark of his Olii series. Within the Arte Povera section Planisfero Politico (1969) by Alighiero Boetti represents the genesis of the artist's paramount Mappa series, and The Black Rose (1967) by Jannis Kounellis was amongst the artist’s first compositions to herald a radical shift towards the movement’s practices and is a truly breakthrough work.
