Susan Forsyth ARBS: Talk - Royal British Society of Sculptors
Susan Forsyth will give an illustrated talk about her practice to coincide with this wonderful exhibition of new work.
This first solo exhibition supported by the Arts Council England brings together two distinct works that explore and examine the concept of play and interaction. Using this idea of simple planes of geometric forms, Jacob's Ladder II is an eight metre high site specific gilded work that leans against the façade of the Royal British Society of Sculptors building, maintaing an engaging presence. Wiff-Waff VI is a large indoor work where visitors can play ping-pong on an oversize gilded table. Players are encouraged to invent the game as they go along and to set up a personal dialogue with the work.
Susan Forsyth was born in the Republic of Ireland and nows lives and works in London. She graduated with an MA from Kingston University in 2008 and with a BA from Chelsea College of Art and Design in 2006.
