The London Design Festival - V&A & other Venues - Victoria & Albert Museum

The London Design Festival is a nine-day celebration of design in the world’s creative capital. The Festival is a platform for the widest spectrum of design disciplines, brought together as a unique and accessible programme.

LDF at the V&A

The V&A is delighted to welcome the London Design Festival, a nine day festival that celebrates London as the creative capital of the world. As the hub of the festival, the V&A is the first point of call for festival visitors. Throughout the museum there will be an array of specially commissioned installations and displays to enjoy, and a broad programme of special events, talks and workshops that will take place throughout the week in the bright, modern setting of the V&A's Sackler Centre, and in the museum. View the list of events and booking information below.

Exhibition Road entrance

The Exhibition Road entrance will be transformed for the duration of the London Design Festival into a dynamic, inspiring environment, featuring a handpicked selection of contemporary furniture chosen by designer Suzanne Trocmé. Providing a gateway to the Festival, the space will be shared by Festival visitors, press, and those in need of some time to relax and reflect.

British Design Embassy

The British Design Embassy, supported by UK Trade & Investment, provides a business and networking destination for international visitors to the London Design Festival. The Embassy installation features a series of secluded meeting spaces, a concierge service and a connection with the seminar programme running in the Sackler Centre throughout the Festival programme.

London Design Festival at the V&A Christmas Cards

The London Design Festival, in association with the V&A, has commissioned a pack of designer Christmas cards, to celebrate the V&A as the Festival Hub. They are available from the V&A shop at the museum or online

Festival Installations and Displays

Framed
Staircase P, Architecture Galleries

Artist and designer Stuart Haygarth, working with leading framing company John Jones, has created a striking installation on the grand marble staircase leading to the V&A's Architecture galleries. Creating evocative stories through objects and architectural features is central to Haygarth's work, and this installation is no exception. 'Framed' uses off-cut pieces of picture-frame to bring this significant piece of the museum's architecture to life and create a dramatic landscape through which visitors can walk.
