THE UNEASY LANDSCAPE - Fold Gallery
FOLD Gallery London is pleased to present The Uneasy Landscape, curated by Natasha Bailey in collaboration with FOLD, consisting of recent graduates.
The Landscape is all around us, it draws your eye across an expanse of space, ever changing, it is affected by weather, people, buildings, light and sound. The Landscape is forged out of elements that are individual to not only a particular place but also moments in time. You are at once not only on the outside viewing a landscape but simultaneously part of it. Unconsciously making your own impact.
There is no question of whether Landscapes can be inspiring, beautiful or serene, but what happens when a landscape is interwoven with the odd, unusual or uncomfortable? The question of how a landscape can affect us on a conscious or subconscious level, whether as a viewer or a participant is approached by the practices of the seven emerging artists in Fold Gallery London's forthcoming show.
