The Third Line at Art Basel Miami Beach 2009 - Miami Convention Centre
The Third Line will exhibit new works by Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian at booth J24, Art Nova section of the fair from December 3 - 6, 2009.
With a solo exhibition of new works by Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, this latest collection of wall mounted works by the eighty-five year old demonstrates her dedication and expertise to combine geometry, craft, history and the aesthetics of her country.
These new works are a collection of detailed geometric motifs. Mirror pieces and glass are painted and carefully constructed to reflect colour and light, utilising skills that were traditionally passed on from father to son in Iran. The result is a stunning selection of nine works based on arithmetical shapes which constantly play with and around the surrounding colors and lights - all points touching a circle with a diameter of 100 cm.
