To Be Confirmed - The Bristol Gallery
Works by a diverse array of contemporary artists from all over Europe will be brought together in a new exhibition entitled To Be Confirmed at The Bristol Gallery from Saturday 16 January to Thursday 25 February 2010.
As a result of new research on German art by Dr Dorothy Rowe of Bristol University’sDepartment of History of Art, the exhibition will include the first UK showing of watercolours by internationally renowned Cologne-based artist MAF Räderscheidt. MAF Räderscheidt is the granddaughter of 1920s artist couple Anton Räderscheidt and Marta Hegemann on whom Dr Rowe is currently completing a book. Around 80 watercolours from MAF’s unique, Twitter-curated Daily Paintings series will be exhibited at The Bristol Gallery.
Other artists included in the exhibition, which has been co-curated by History of Art MA student and Bristol Gallery Manager, Holly Lopez, are works by Chantal Powel, Nick Davis, Jimmy Galvin, Mark Boyce, Hywel Livingstone, Ian Campbell-Briggs, Alison Black and international artist Julien Masson.
To Be Confirmed follows the success of the New Contemporaries I and Picasso, Chagall, Matisse exhibitions at The Bristol Gallery in December 2009.
